What exactly is measured

Year-on-year growth in non-food credit of all scheduled commercial banks, as stated in the RBI's monthly press release 'Sectoral Deployment of Bank Credit'. Since December 2025 the reporting date is the last day of the month (Banking Laws (Amendment) Act 2025), compared with the last reporting fortnight under the old rule a year earlier. Earlier releases used a different reporting day and stated growth with or without the effect of a non-bank's merger with a bank, so they are not shown.
