What this shows
- Real private consumption grew 7.1% in Q1 (April–June) 2026-27, against 6.8% a year earlier and slower than GDP (7.8%).
- PFCE is the largest part of demand: 55.6% of GDP at current prices in Q1 2026-27 (press note, Statement 4).
- Double deflation, which makes manufacturing growth swing, does not enter PFCE; it is a final-demand measure with no intermediate inputs (MoSPI, 2 September 2026).

What exactly is measured
Year-on-year growth in private final consumption expenditure (what households and non-profits spend on goods and services), by quarter of the financial year, at constant 2022-23 prices. Computed from MoSPI's published quarterly levels; the result reproduces every growth rate MoSPI publishes. The latest quarter is a first estimate.
