What this shows
- Nominal GDP grew 10.3% in Q1 (April–June) 2026-27, against 8.1% a year earlier, while real GDP grew 7.8% (MoSPI press note, 31 August 2026).
- Q1 2026-27 GDP at current prices was ₹88.27 lakh crore, against ₹80.00 lakh crore in Q1 2025-26.
- Don't compute growth across base years: under the old 2011-12 series Q1 2025-26 was put at ₹86.05 lakh crore, and MoSPI says that figure cannot be compared with the 2022-23 series (2 September 2026).

What exactly is measured
Year-on-year growth in GDP at current prices (nominal GDP), by quarter of the financial year, on the 2022-23 base. Real growth strips out price changes; the gap between the two is the implicit GDP deflator. The latest quarter is a first estimate.
