What this shows
- Real GDP grew 7.8% in 2025-26 (provisional estimate, NAS 2026), the fastest of the three years in the new 2022-23 base series.
- MoSPI moved the base year from 2011-12 to 2022-23 in February 2026. Growth rates from the two series are not comparable: rebasing cut 2023-24 growth from 9.2% in the old series to 7.2%, since revised to 7.3%.
- The 2025-26 figure has risen with each estimate, from 7.4% (first advance, old base) to 7.6%, 7.7% and now 7.8%. Cite the estimate and its release date.
