  • India's oilseed production is estimated at 43.1 million tonnes in 2025-26 (third advance estimates), level with 43.0 million tonnes in 2024-25 and up from 25.3 million tonnes in 2015-16.
  • Rapeseed & mustard (13.8 million tonnes) and groundnut (13.1) grew in 2025-26, while soybean fell from 15.3 to 12.6 million tonnes.
  • The National Mission on Edible Oils – Oilseeds (2024-25 to 2030-31) aims at 69.7 million tonnes of primary oilseeds by 2030-31; the mission counted 39 million tonnes for 2022-23, against 41.4 million tonnes in these final estimates.
