What exactly is measured
Minimum support price for wheat, in rupees per quintal (100 kg), by rabi marketing season, as recommended by the Commission for Agricultural Costs and Prices (CACP) and fixed by the Cabinet Committee on Economic Affairs before sowing. Wheat sown in the 2026-27 crop year is bought in rabi marketing season 2027-28 (CACP's own table lists it under the crop year). The MSP is the price at which government agencies buy the crop; it is not a market price.
